Language and Reading Across the Curriculum

Language and Reading Across the Curriculum

At our school, we offer two tailored programmes – Language Across the Curriculum (LAC) for Form 4 students and Reading Across the Curriculum (RAC) for Form 1 and 2 students – specially designed to integrate language skills with academic content learning.

Reading Across the Curriculum (RAC) for Junior Forms

For our junior students in Form 1 and 2, the RAC curriculum serves as a gateway to a broad range of knowledge across various disciplines. By engaging with diverse reading materials from subjects such as Science, History, and Life and Society, students not only gain exposure to the English language but also expand their understanding of different fields of knowledge. This programme is thoughtfully designed to foster students’ confidence, enhance their learning capacities, and cultivate their interest in a multitude of subjects. Its ultimate aim is to empower students as proactive learners, equipping them with the necessary skills to reach their highest potential.

Language Across the Curriculum (LAC) for Senior Forms

Building on this foundation, the LAC course for our Form 4 students goes further in enriching the language experience within an academic context. This comprehensive course covers a broad spectrum of topics and incorporates dynamic activities aimed at improving English proficiency while fostering a deeper understanding of various academic subjects. By strategically equipping students with the linguistic skills necessary to meet the language demands of different content subjects, the course establishing a robust academic foundation and paves the way for future success.

Both LAC and RAC serve as integral components of our educational approach, reflecting our holistic view of learning. By seamlessly integrating language development with academic content, we empower our students to excel linguistically and intellectually across all areas of their studies.
